No experience
I have absolutely no experience in Real Estate, but I do love buying and selling, and seeking out a "deal". Also have had experience in building four of my own homes.
A friend said to me not long ago, that I would be very good at developing. Only having very little (both financially and experience ) comparatively to your information, my Question is "Should I consider Development"?
kind regards
Anne
Hi Anne,
Thanks for writing to me and I would refer you to other answers I have given to this question in this blog.
Essentially it is a very personal question. I think it is the best job in the world, but then again I have spent a very big chunk of my life doing real estate development and loved it including all the challenges.
The next point I'll make is that it is a real business; it is very serious and involves large amounts of money and that money always starts with cash saved by you as the basis of your cash investment.
As it is a business and a very special business at that, you have to learn how to go about it correctly, so you know what you are getting into.
That is why after retiring to the good life I am the only developer in the world to write a full teaching course on how to go about doing real estate development the right way the first time.
I cover real estate development for residential, for commercial and for subdivision, so why not just pick the one that appeals to you and set about learning about all the elements that make up development and see if that is for you.
Hope this helps,
Colm
